Gourmet Patty Melts with Signature Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. Ground beef
- 6 Slices of rye bread
- ½ tsp. Onion powder
- ½ tsp. Garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 Slices of cheddar cheese
- 6 Slices of provolone cheese
- 6 Tbsp. Unsalted butter, softened
For the secret sauce:
- ¼ cup Mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp. Chopped bacon pieces
- 3 Tbsp. Ketchup
- 1 tsp. Sugar
- 1 tsp. Relish
Instructions:
- Shape the ground beef into 3 flattened patties, matching the size of the bread slices.
- Season both sides of the patties with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the patties on medium-high heat until fully cooked; set aside.
- Mix all secret sauce ingredients until well combined.
- Clean the skillet used for cooking the patties and reduce the heat to medium.
- Generously butter one side of each bread slice.
- Place three bread slices, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Top each bread slice with 2 slices of provolone cheese, a cooked patty, and 2 slices of cheddar cheese.
- Spread a layer of secret sauce on the non-buttered side of the remaining bread slices, then place them sauce-side down on top of the patties in the skillet.
- Once the cheese has melted and one side of the bread is toasted, flip the patty melts.
- Toast the other side of the bread until golden brown.
