Gourmet Patty Melts with Signature Sauce

Gourmet Patty Melts with Signature Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Ground beef
  • 6 Slices of rye bread
  • ½ tsp. Onion powder
  • ½ tsp. Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 Slices of cheddar cheese
  • 6 Slices of provolone cheese
  • 6 Tbsp. Unsalted butter, softened

For the secret sauce:

  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. Chopped bacon pieces
  • 3 Tbsp. Ketchup
  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Relish

Instructions:

  1. Shape the ground beef into 3 flattened patties, matching the size of the bread slices.
  2. Season both sides of the patties with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook the patties on medium-high heat until fully cooked; set aside.
  4. Mix all secret sauce ingredients until well combined.
  5. Clean the skillet used for cooking the patties and reduce the heat to medium.
  6. Generously butter one side of each bread slice.
  7. Place three bread slices, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  8. Top each bread slice with 2 slices of provolone cheese, a cooked patty, and 2 slices of cheddar cheese.
  9. Spread a layer of secret sauce on the non-buttered side of the remaining bread slices, then place them sauce-side down on top of the patties in the skillet.
  10. Once the cheese has melted and one side of the bread is toasted, flip the patty melts.
  11. Toast the other side of the bread until golden brown.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy your gourmet patty melts with secret sauce.
