Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup of light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of softened butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 peeled and chopped apples

Instructions:

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon, then set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the white sugar and softened butter until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, until smooth.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then layer with half of the chopped apples and the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture. Repeat these layers.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
