Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (500ml) barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (optional for a hint of spice)
  • 2 kg (4 pounds) baby back pork ribs
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Spray the inside of a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
  2. Remove the inner skin (membrane) from the ribs and place the ribs in the slow cooker. Discard the skin.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to combine, then cover the ribs with half of the sauce mixture.
  4. Season the ribs with salt and pepper to taste. Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low setting for 7-9 hours or on high setting for 3-5 hours. Refrigerate the remaining sauce for later use.
  5. When the ribs are tender and falling apart, carefully transfer them onto an oven tray or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Pour half of the juices from the slow cooker bowl into the remaining sauce mixture. Baste the ribs with half of the sauce and broil (grill) in a preheated oven at 400°F (220°C) for about 10 minutes or until beginning to char and crisp on the edges.
  7. Serve the ribs with the remaining sauce on the side.

Enjoy your delicious slow cooker barbecued beef!
